I have a 13 week old rottweiler puppy named Zephyr, who is gorgeous, but she has been diagnosed with scrolled cartilage of her third eyelids. Last Saturday her third eyelids prolapsed and were covering about half of her eyes - she didn't seem bothered at all by it, but I took her to the vet, where they diagnosed her.
However, the eyelid went down on Sunday, and by Monday was completely back to normal, and I'm not sure if this is normal? I was under the impression that it was going to stay prolapsed until they could perform surgery (at 6 months because they don't like putting pups under unless necessary, and the surgery is not urgent) but it hasn't and I guess I just want to make sure that this is normal. I have tried googleing this, but haven't had any luck.
Also, if anyone has experience, would you recommend getting it done at the local vet, or going to a specialist ophthalmologist? I live in Kalgoorlie, so to go to a specialist I would have to drive for 6 hours, but I do go back to Perth fairly regularly, so it wouldn't be too much hassle.... Also I am sure the specialist would cost a fair bit more, but I have pet insurance so am not too concerned about that...
If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated!!
