Vet nurses can be suckers for dogs in trouble. Ie rescue cases.
We are sneaking out dawn/dusk for a swim, and they are not moving from cold stone floors in between.
I love summa!
I think Bernie was alluding to the comment about heat. Early and late walks only and her dogs like my dogs lie on the cold floors all day LOL.
Difference is I hate summer. I like the winter when the paddocks are green and the snakes are hopefully hibernating. No water around here just endless dry and dust and 40 degree plus days and the ever present risk of fire and snakes.
Anyone ever tried socialising a puppy with cats.
I trained my puppy to get the cats out of the yard so they wouldn't wake me up fighting under my bedroom window at 3am.
So she's not very good with cats unless they're dog savvy and won't move. No matter how much she barks at them.
My brother's cat failed this test.
It is possible to train a dog and a cat to be nice to each other. I'm not entirely sure how. I guess by stopping or preventing any inappropriate behaviour (by both critters) and by rewarding (with pats and praise and a safe place) good behaviour.
Prevent the cat from running. Prevent the dog from chasing - very very important.
