Our 4th foster pup left to her forever home today. I can cope with saying goodbye and letting go quite well because I know it's the best for all concerned.
But I always feel dreadfully guilty about taking Banjo's playmate away. Especially as it takes her a week of being very worried after they first arrive, with growling and snapping and not wanting to share anything (especially not me) before she warms to them.
To those who foster dogs, do you do anything to make this transition easier for your dog?
I know Banjo will be very excited to go for bike rides again, something I very rarely do with her when we have fosters. But that's about the only advantage to her that I can see...
