I just had my puppy desexed 2 days ago and I'm not sure if I'm worrying over nothing as its my first dog!
His wound seems all swollen and red, and it was like that when I picked him up. I don't see any visible stitches (is this normal?). The vet said the procedure went fine. He probably licked the wound prior to me picking him up as I've seen him doing this quite a bit and aggravated the wound. I've attached the picture here. Just wondering if this is normal, or if its red and swollen due to my puppy licking his wounds or maybe the vet did a botch job?
I've seen two other male dogs after they just got desexed and it looks nothing like my dog! The other two dogs wounds looked all fine like nothing had been done except you could see stitches and it wasn't red.
