Hi guys, new to the site but wanted to ask a question.
On the w/e my dog (greyhound) was found in our back yard with severe injuries. He had a large deep wound on his leg and what appeared to be a puncture wound ontop of his head. He was taken to the vet but died whilst being operated on.
At first we thought maybe a dog had come into our yard somehow and maybe they had a fight? Or perhaps he had hurt himself on something. He later died from his head injury and the vet told us what appeard to be a puncture wound was actually from receiving a massive blow to the head which didn't look like much from the outside has smashed his skull into small pieces and green paint was found in the wound.
The vet is certain he couldn't inflict this kind of injury on himself. So police and RSPCA were called and the forensic guy seemed to think he may have hurt himself running into the clothes line (which is green) however the vet still disagrees as the impact had to be very very hard. Has anyone heard if anything like this before? A dog injuring themselves to this extent?
The clothes line isn't broken or has anything the could be of danger. We're hopeing it's some kind of freak accident and don't want to believe someone actually could have done this.
