Have to agree with you there Choppa. I can't see any good in it all, no matter how hard I try.
I saw today, in one shop: "Jugs" which look very much like purebred pugs...
but who dreamed up that combination?? And who is trying to deal with that mix of physical attributes and temperaments?? Glad it's not me... Sorry, but the cute factor is being overwhelmed by the other stuff there. A dog that wants to run all day but has a short face??
Also "Cavoodles". All I can see on these little guys is WAY too much coat, and a size that scares me.... They will end up bigger than Cockers, with so much coat care needed I don't even want to think about it. All I see is the matted, stinking, unable to see and covered in their own matted up s**t end result that I've seen so many times in pounds.
No good can ever some of people buying "cute" puppies for no other reason.
At least here in Victoria there was some movement governing Pet shops selling pets in the window and many were closed for a while but recently they re-surfaced somehow. Some of the pets in some shops look really in need of care -hair matted, full of fleas, etc. I went to a local Vet for an emergency once and found that he sells cats & dogs!!! I don't go there anymore. It is not because he is a Vet that he can be involved in animal trade. It doesn't make it legitimate or ethical.
