Similar to Scottsmum's situation but i thought i'd make a thread specific to my situation... Dodge is feeling the cold this winter
I'm not really sure what to do for her... The rule at my house is 'no dogs in the house' so that isn't an option.
Every kind of blanket or soft bed she's ever had, she has loved it for a while but she will eventually decide that she needs to rip it apart, so i'll walk outside to find its been 'snowing' outside and i'll have to find her a new bed. She just recently ripped apart a lounge chair we had outside for her, she loved it because she could tuck her feet right under her and snuggle right into the corner, but now its absolutely ripped to shreds. She currently has a thick layer of shade-cloth in her kennel which was great in summer, but not good enough for winter. Its the only thing she hasn't ripped up
A nice warm coat works well to keep her warm, however its dangerous when she's wandering the farm, because she gets stuck on fences.
Heat packs are not really an option because i'm sure she'd rip them up and hurt herself in the process.
She's a pretty hardy dog, and copes well in the cold, but as she ages i'm noticing she's feeling it more...
Is there anything out there that i haven't tried that might help? Or will i just have to keep buying new blankets every time she rips one up...
