Hi. Last post I talked about my concerns about Bruno barking at Max, objects and general noises around the house. He is still barking. He barks when I come home; barks if Max is running around in the other room etc.; he also sometimes barks at nothing in particular.
As I said before, there is no growling, lunging, teeth baring etc - just lots of barking. He will stop if i ask him and I get him to sit and calm down. But he will start up again if he hears Max in the other room or some other commotion going on.
The thing is, Bruno likes Max and comes up to Max to give him sloppy kisses. He does this to all the kids. I took Max on the walk with us yesterday and Bruno was quite happy to have him there walking along side. So I feel my socialization efforts with the kids are paying off. Serena has also increased her confidence with the kids which is awesome.
My theory is that Bruno is an excitable dog, going through his adolescence and fear phase, getting used to his new environment and hopefully this will all improve as her matures. Sound about right? Any advice -i.e. should I be discouraging his barking all together or just interrupt it and get him to sit and calm down? Or do I just ignore it?
