I am hoping someone can help. I have a 2 year old spoodle who is sweet natured and always friendly. He's outgoing and loves everyone.
Recently he was groomed and was cut badly under the chin (where his collar goes) by the groomer. He was sent to their vet, they glued his wound shut. We had subsequent visits to the vet and he has been fine all the way through (six weeks).
He developed a skin tag due to the way the wound was fixed. We had this removed on Monday this week and on Tuesday he started scratching the area where he was shaved. We were told to bandage his back feet. He reacted by sitting down and not moving.
We removed the bandages after about two hours and since then he is refusing to do anything at all. He won't eat, he won't go to the toilet and he just sits with his head down or sleeps. The only things he does while he's awake is wash his paws like a mad thing or scratch his shaved neck.
I really think he's just sulking but I don't know how to bring him out of it. All the things that usually get him excited are having no effect whatsoever, including his favourite snacks or going in the car or for a walk.
I am extremely worried. He will eat if we hand feed him but I don't want to do that as I think it's encouraging him to be a baby. He's just had his first water since yesterday morning too.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.:
