ANKC breeders would advertise their dogs as
"pedigree Staffordshire Bull Terrier"
as "English Staffy" is not a term recognised by the ANKC. And purebred doesn't mean pedigree either. ANKC pedigree means a written record of the dog's parentage where the parents, grand parents and ... several generations back - are all pedigree SBT too.
I think "purebred" when referring to dogs is bit like "natural" when referring to medicine or food. Meaningless.
I love that photo of all three on the stairs
If she is from a back yard breeder who really knows what she is! What people tell you and the truth can sometimes be very different. She does look like she has Staffy in her, I am leaning more towards AmStaffy but then the rest could be anything
Enjoy your puppy, even at this age it is hard to tell!
There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face.
What I do know is that I never regret buying him(even though I would never buy from a BYB/puppyfarm/etc again), love your dog for her personality and don't get too hung up on the "breed". I went pedigree this time so I could be sure that firstly my new pup had been tested for hereditary diseases, was bred for the right reasons(i wasn't supporting puppy farming - several of his litter are now show dogs) and lastly that I knew exactly what my new pup was.
We only saw her dad. We love her. She is just so cute & her temperament is beautiful
I guess sometimes people just tell you anything to sell you a pup. I have papers for my oldest girl & my middle girl was the runt of the litter. I love all my girls & there personalities & temperaments are all great. They are such an affectionate & loyal dog & I wouldn't have any other breed. Did you buy another staff. It would b great to see a pic. Thanks again for your help
I find it a great shame that we have threads where very experienced dog people(people much more experienced than myself) who don't like the breed. It is unfortunate but it's a fact of life that the Stafford is now one of the most popular breeds going around and that unfortunately means that lots of people who have absolutely NO idea own a dog that really does need an experienced owner in some cases ... hence we get stories of Staffords attacking other dogs and *shakes head* people. I say that not as a go at those who don't like Staffords, but as a go at the incompetent muppets who own our fantastic breed who will inevitably hurt the reputation of our breed.
ETA : Either search "Brock" or look through the picture forum here and you'll find my threads of Brock pics
