I'm new here and I have a big White Swiss Shepherd boy named Astro. Yeah, I know that for some people the Berger Blank Suisse is not officially registered with the ANKC and therefore is not technically a breed, but for me I believe that these dogs deserve to be recognized, they have lovely temperaments. Astro, my boy, is just over a year old and he is pretty big and energetic. He so far has learnt the tricks "Sit" "Drop" "Shake" "Wait" "Here/Come" "Dig-in/Eat" "Fetch" "Bed" and "Catch". His training was halted for a few months but now I want to teach him more because he may have a rather vacant expression, but he does have the will to please. I really want to train him to put his toys into the toy box.
I joined so I could learn more about handling dogs, although I have been with dogs of all sizes for my whole life. Astro is my "first" dog where I have searched for/viewed/payed for/feed/trained all by myself. There is so much more to learn and I want my dog to reach his full potential of being a great companion. There's so many questions that I wish to ask like "Does feeding a dog a high quality diet reduce shedding?" "What really is a high quality diet?" and many more.
I hope this place is friendly and very knowledgeable. I'm sure it is!
