I have just read through this thread and want to say 'thanks' for taking Serena on. What a very lucky girl she was to find you and your family. This story has heartened me and put a smile on my face, because I know another Stafford has found their way to a forever loving home.
I adopted 2 staffies this year from shelters, one was on death row. They are both 2 year olds and full of energy, but like you, I had the time when I questioned my boys emotional state - I am sure he was shut down and depressed and confused for a short while. It is so sad to see, and heartbreaking trying to work out what to do. I commend you on your patience and love for Serena, she seems to be in a very good place emotionally and getting better every day.
I would also like to say thanks to the lovely members of this forum, who have given time, advice and their ear - what a great bunch of people.
Keep up with the updates of Serena, I love the photos, what a chunky monkey with a great big grin
