So when I first got Jasper, I had him on Earthborn Puppy. I only bought the smallest bag to see if he liked it and how his body reacted to it (his poop). He LOVED it! Scoffed the whole lot down straight away, and his poop was nice and firm and brown. The biscuits were smaller, the food more nutritious, and he was happy with a general hand full. But once that bag started to run out, I also had to pay a lot of bills at the time that I didn't normally have to pay, so I looked for something else that was relatively nutritious, but relatively bang-for-your-buck. A large 12.7 kg bag of Earthborn puppy is $115.99 at PetStock. I bought Uncle Alber's 22kg Beef & Chicken (smells like horse feed) for $33 to get me by for as long as it lasted (the biscuit size is about 3-4 times larger than that of Earthborn puppy). He ate it, but not so enthusiastically as the Earthborn dog food, so I added in a tin of sardines last night - that was gone in a snap, bowl licked clean too! And this morning I gave him the dry food with some doggie meat ball things, he ate the meat balls, didn't eat the dry food, threw up bile during the day (as told by the other people that live on the property - their answer to that was that he was just hungry), then went up and ate the dry food... SO! I'm thinking, that if I continually have to add in wet food of some sort to mix in with his Uncle Alber's dry food so he'll actually eat the stuff, the costs really start to add up. The sardines are only about $1 a tin, but twice a day, that's $2 a day, about $60 a month and so on. Which brings me to my original reason for this post - Maybe I should give in and buy the 12.7kg bag of Earthborn instead of sticking to Uncle Alber's mixed with wet food every time he gets fed?
P.S. I also noticed his poo is more of a greenish colour since being on Uncle Alber's.
