So I purchased a puppy from the RSPCA a couple of months ago, and he was advertised as a Kelpie cross.
We love him to bits, and he's quite well behaved for a puppy, much better than expected. Our other dogs get along with him really well, and are teaching him everything he needs to know.
The only thing is we can't work out what breed he is, other than Kelpie . We're not too concerned, and we could always buy a DNA test, but I'm interested to see what other people may think from their past experience.
He has quite big paws (which grew after we got him), he's a solid rusty colour, slightly lighter under his neck and on his stomach. He's got a darker bit down his back, which goes from his neck to the end of his tail. His tail is small, and we thought it had been docked at first, but it's still growing. It has a little natural bend in the end. he has two light strips on the edge of his shoulder blades. He has dark eyes and nose, and his ears are like a foxy's.
He's very intelligent, and eager to please. He's very vocal and loves talking and barking. He will play with the others, but he's more than happy to play by himself, or just sleep or explore quietly.
I'm interested to hear any ideas or suggestions.
It's finally let me post a picture!
This is when we first got him - He is much bigger now!
