We came back from a camping trip at the coast last night. We've been going to that place for years and have only once encountered ticks there and that was in the middle of winter, after a very wet autumn.
I checked my daughter's head when she said she was itchy and felt little bumps. All I could see was tiny scabs, which I pulled off. It was only when we came home and pulled one off myself that I realised that they were ticks after all. Tinier than a pinhead! We would have needed a magnifying glass to see them properly.
So I have bugger all chance to find them on Banjo with her dense double coat! She's on Comfortis for fleas, so no tick protection. All I can think of is to give her a bath with tick shampoo and hope for the best. Or would putting frontline on her now still do the trick?
