Hooch has canine leprosy.
It is extensive but hopefully treatable.
It is caused by a hard to grow, leprosy causing strand of mycobacterium (according to the report we got back from the DNA/PCR bacteria test)
Which explains why it is taking so long to get the culture results back (still waiting on those).
There is info here about what he has:
He is on new strong antibiotics combination that will hopefully cure him.
However he vomited his first dose last night, poor doggie he been on 7-8 different antibiotics in the last 1-2 months.
This morning so far he is keeping it down thank god.
Finally we think we know whats wrong and how to treat. Hopefully the rest of the results dont come back with something different or weird.
His mood seems to be abit better and less manic as his lesions are oozing less (from different course of antibiotics maybe).
My dog is still alive and has a good prognosis!!
