As you know - my dogs are not perfect. Occasionally they can be downright awful for reasons I often can't figure out. I do what I can to fix this and protect others around me from being bothered. On the days I am home, my dogs will spend 99% of the time indoors and bark maybe 5 minutes all day. On the days I am not home, my dogs will spend 100% of the time indoors with the windows shut, and might bark 15-20 minutes all day on a good day, to maybe an hour on a bad day. I go out maybe 2 or 3 times a week. So I was surprised to see one of my neighbours deliberately hose my dog through the hedge on Saturday at 1pm. The dog was just sitting, looking through the fence - not barking or doing anything. I thought "ok, maybe it was the kids next door. Kids do things like that." Anyway, earlier today one of my other dogs went downstairs and had a little run around the yard. Maybe a growl or two, not a real bark. Anyway, I heard one of the adult neighbours yell "Rack off." In front of their child (presumably). Nice. Excuse me? What was my dog doing? NOTHING! I am really disappointed because we used to be friends and I really try to be nice and somehow we ended up avoiding each other. I know I am sick and under a lot of stress right now so things bother me really easily. I think maybe they have some sort of problem too because they used to be a lot different without saying too much. But there isn't really any more I can do to keep my dogs away from them and I think my dogs should be entitled to go in their own yard. I just hope it doesn't escalate into them doing something to the dogs. The only thing I can think of is the person on the other side of me and across the road got new dogs which bark alot so maybe the neighbours think all their barking is coming from my house.
