We have a 3-4 month old puppy. For some reason, she loves shoes... the bad way. I guess she's okay because she doesn't shred them. but every morning our thongs have more and more tiny teeth marks. A pair of joggers I was airing out the other day were bitten to. Basically anything that we place our fut in other than socks, she will attack. At least the shoes are still wear-able although I would appreciate it if I don't have to wear slightly icky shoes. And yes I have a bucket FULL of toys. I have tennis balls (one of those tennis ball material fetch sticks she had completely annihilated in the night ), treat stuffing toys, food dispensers, latex toys, plush toys and chew sticks. In fact I think I might have spoiled him a little.
On the whole a very sensible dog though. She never barks unless aroused by aggressive dogs and the washing machine (she'd gone crazy last time). When my neighbours met her, she was actually cornered but didn't bit or lick at their fingers. On her car trip home, she never barked at all! Even off leash, she never jumped on me in the car or anything like that. She might brush up against your leg out of a little anxiety. We have another problem where the neighbour's dog would bark furiously at our puppy and then she would bark back until either our neighbours or I either reassured the dogs or did a bit of training. Note that she hasn't had her third set of shots yet because she was stray.
Lily says that I shouldn't give her so many chews and treats. This was today's treat count: 3 meaty strips, 3 twisted rawhide sticks, 2 dried kangaroo bits and 1 piece of dried lamb liver. If you know anyway how to get rid of the barking problem without the two dogs meeting (no 3rd vaccination yet) or how to stop the chewing of shoes and other random stuff (i.e. the garden hose, wood bits, dirt even) please post.
