OK, I will admit that I am getting more than just a tad tired of Mosh's anti pit bull vitriol.
By their own admission he or she has not had any real interaction with American Pit Bull Terriers, but they are willing to condemn all APBTs because of what they have read in the papers or seen on the internet.
Some APBts have dog aggression; so do some JRTs and some cattle dogs. FFS! Get over it and deal the issues that your unique dog has and be a good human leader. It ain't that hard.
I have had over 15 APBTs come through my yard as rescue dogs; only one of these dogs was dog aggressive. The other 14 were fine with my APBT, my Maltese/Shih tsu, and my dingo/corgi cross. My APBT, my Maltese/shih tsu, and my dingo/corgi cross are a fine pack of dogs that socialise together better than most humans do. Don't ever try to tell me that APBTs can not socialise with other dogs. Only someone who had no understanding of dogs would say that.
I would recommend that you should stop spouting your uninformed crap and actually try meeting and interacting with APBTs. Perhaps then you would understand why we pit bull owners refer to our dogs as the best dogs ever.
Unlike mymatejack, I do not have "the utmost respect for Mosh as far as his/her(sorry no idea which lol) knowledge of dog behaviours and training" goes; I think he/she is behaving abysmally and they should lift their game.
I think that is highly unlikely that any pit bull owner on Dog Forum fights their dog. Sheesh, at the height of dog fighting in the US of A only 1% of APBTs were fought. So 99% of pit bulls weren't fought, but guess what they were remembered for? Likewise, Dobermanns are remembered as concentration camp guard dogs.
The APBT is the best of the best dogs (but it is just a dog, like any other breed of dog)
My avatar? It's a pit bull in a poodle suit (a bit like me really)
