Yes, but even a completely untrained Dalmation should not attack a puppy. Puppies have a special licence to be obnoxious andreminded to behave by older dogs.gently
So I have to agree with Nekhbet. Something seriously wrong with that particular Dalmation. And more wrong with its owners for letting it run off lead.
It worries me that people allow young children (under 16yo) to walk dogs unsupervised. Even some adults don't have what it takes to deal with a situation like this.
I agree there was something seriously wrong with THIS dog. Not this breed.
And more wrong with handler/owner having it off leash.
LoL just LOL to BSL
How do you know it's not the dogs fault? Not every dog is born an angel, and sometimes they HAVE been socialised properly but still exhibit aggression and dangerous behaviour. Some dogs genuinely enjoy bullying others or killing small animals. I think get off your high horse on this one, you're getting mad over very little. It's an extremely sad situation.Yes but it's not the dog's fault. It's the owners fault for not socializing it properly. Or keeping it on lead.
DalmatiAns are generally not agressive, but every dog, no matter what breed can be.
These things will always happy, owners NEED to socialise their pets and know their dogs personality to keep other people and animals safe.
It is very sad, and the owners should not have had the dog off lead if it had ever exhibited agression to another dog before.
No matter what breed it was (you would think that that was a hard breed to mis-identify but I have seen Harlequin Danes, German Short-haired pointers and various crosses incorrectly identified as Dalmations) the actions of one member of that breed should NOT condemn every other member of the breed, any more than the actions of Al-Quaeda fanatics should condemn all Muslim people, or the actions of tke Klu Klux Klan should condemn all Christian people.
To this day, the worst attack I have ever heard of by a dog towards a human was by a Dachshund that castrated a baby. I myself was bitten by my mum's chihuahua when I was like 2. She took the chihuahua's side
