What a cutie, nice jarmies by the way lol
No one loves you like your dog does.
Lovely pup. Nice clicker work. Is your luring behaviour intentional? As you tend to do this frequently in video. Also, your command is coming as if on que by pup's behaviour at some points. ie. not que/behaviour/reward, more behaviour/que/behaviour reward.
I notice as this is what i notice in my videos. And watching these video's really helps me. Thanyou for sharing.
yeah, i hear the pup carrying on in the background, how DARE you leave it all alone lol
I am just going to erase this. While I don't agree with you, and you have your right to your opinion my bad mood won't make this any better. He's a good dog, and he's learning ... I am sorry if you feel how I train is wrong, but it is how I train.

Great Job on the training, he looks to be coming on nicely with his training, it is certainly a starting point. YAY for Maddex.
I don't think Bernie was saying how you are training him is wrong, i think they were just pointing out an observation they made while watching your video. it looks like you are doing a great job with him, and training puppies is trial and error different things work for different owners, we trained all 3 of our dogs in a different way because each of them learnt differently and at different paces, but they are all just as well behaved and trained as each other.
Advice from other dog owners who may be more experienced in traning pups/dogs is always a nice thing to take on though, and the great thing is, if it doesn't work for you and Maddex then you can try something different, trial and error lovely, it is a beautiful concept IMO.
Maddex is a beautifil dog BTW, gorgeous little fluff ball.
Individual training styles, I know that because I took a lot of what I know off of watching random videos about it. I do know that there are times I treat him when he does something, but I say the voice command right as he does it and I treat it and it encourages the behavior next time when I use the command. I guess I don't exactly believe that in the early stages of training it all has to be queue, behavior, treat... I think a lot of it has to do with just getting them to perform the action repeatedly and sticking a command to that action so later they can register it. I know a lot of people who treat for just about anything, everything from looking at them to an ear twitch and while I don't do that I do like the idea of treating while they are performing a positive action even if it isn't associate with a queue first. I guess that's why I guess I don't agree with Bernie, and why I butted heads a bit...
Awesome work!! Maddex is a clever little fella!!
"Lovely pup. Nice clicker work." is my english way of saying, nice training. ie. clicker work = training in my head.
"Is your luring behaviour intentional?" as i have done a couple of styles half heatedly. And luring is cool in one of them, and not allowed in other. I am now a hybrid and find i do lure. If you look at the question, it is not loaded with any judgement, it is purely, an enquiry? That i am denegrating you as a dog trainer is something your mind brought to the party. Not me.
Its such a cute pup, its doing brilliantly. Forget my questions.
