I happened to be taking my dog out for a walk today as was enjoying the walk, all of a sudden I came across 2 guys who had a dog that was being unruly and dragging its owner along with it. I firstly looked away as the owner looked like someone you cannot mess with. I walked on further and then he kept on staring at me.
After a walk the same way back I bumped into him again and this time he was sitting on the bench and looked a bit miserable, I smiled at him and he smiled back. To strike a conversation I asked the question "Tired are We" In which he responded yeah this dog is really beginning to kill my soul, I decided to sit down with him at the time his dog continued to be unruly and he just allowed it to do as it pleased. During the time my dog was at a safe distance behaving well.
I then told the guy that he could teach his dog to be obedient and he said he has tried but his dog does not obey him. I said that I can see based on the way your dog was dragging you along during your walk. I then suggested that he can train his dog to become obedient and he said that he has already tried a lot of things that do not seem to work and he is not going to try anything else as it is just a waste of time.
Now I thought to myself, with an attitude like that you will never get results when you train your dog as you have to believe in the training itself and have the confidence to teach your dog.
If you knew someone like that would you offer your free time to help them train their dog or point them in the right direction? In my opinion people like that do not tend to get the results of training their dogs and helping out is usually a waste of time as they never do what they are told to.
