Pip is not usually too bad, she only barks when she gets over excited, but today she is driving me nuts.
She has been barking at the cats, a lot. Barking at nothing, even more. Mostly its a frustration bark, but for the life of me I can't work out what her problem is. Her routine has been pretty much the same, walk in the morning, free run of the house while I work (at home), some play time with me in the garden, probably 10 mins every few hours, games in the house. She has toys which she plays by herself, she has space to go for quiet time.
Once she starts barking, she won't stop - what ever we do - I never yell or raise my voice to her (though I did once today, it stopped her for a bit, through pure shock)
We don't allow her on the couch or the bed, but despite being ignored or put back on the floor with out any attention and praised and treated when she is on her own bed, she still constantly tries to get up. She is not getting the hint - clearly I'm not communicating with her properly. We have started clicker training, but unless I'm sitting on the floor waving sausages in her face, she isn't interested.
Chasing the cats has become a game - one I need to stop - the cat runs, Pip chases, cat jumps up high, Pip barks her head off until I break it up.
Grrrr - someone remind me, why did I want a puppy, again?
