My next door neighbour has a male Rotti about 6 or 7 years old.
Since I fenced our orchard ( I just dog wired over the pre existing horse fence)
he has approached me to see if his dog could come over to play.
The Rotti gets excited when my 2 boys (male) are having chase time out in our yards
and usually just watches from a standing position, but if I feel he is getting overexcited
then I bring my lot in and let them play inside for a while.
I thought about telling the guy he can bring the dog in and just play fetch or something
(I would keep my 2 inside) or should he bring the dog to the fence on Lead and me do the same
just with No.1 dog) and just chat for a while keeping the dogs calm if that is possible.
It would be nice to walk them together on neutral territory but there isn't any.
(This is a paddock of ours that we could maybe use)
We are on a busy road, traffic doing 100k and then some, there is a wide nature strip but my dog OWNS it
(well and truly marked) and the guy seems to keep odd hours, working away at times.
The Rotti does not seem aggressive to me, approaches the fence (if loose) in a playful manner and has not
ever threatened my lot (was very interested in 2 female fosters I had here for a while). He may be an entire male.
I feel sorry for this dog having to watch the circus over here twice a day.
(another option I would help him fence an exercise yard on his own property.?)
