While we've been talking a fair bit about if people are scared of pitbulls and dogs owned by incapable owners lately I thought I'd ask the question 'has anyone been scared of your dog for no reason?'
I just got back from a walk and as we approached a jack russel cross thing, I stepped off the footpath to give the lady and her dog some space as me and my 2 dogs take up the whole path. Both my dogs were heeling perfectly at my side and not attempting to go near her dog in any way yet she still picked up her dog and as she walked past said "my dog has been attacked too many times to take chances with your dogs", I said "I understand, I wouldn't worry about my dogs though- they're harmless" she then went on to say "they look harmless but I could never believe you" and then walked away with her nose stuck in the air like some old prude. It really ticked me off! Fair enough if she is worried about her dogs getting attacked by other dogs, but she didn't have to say anything to me and she probably shouldn't be walking it at an off-leash park - I'm just glad we were on our way home so mine were on the leash.
So anyone else have any similar stories? Anyone been scared of a dog that's turned out harmless?
