Your little guy will have no issues chewing on a cow shin bone sliced into 50mm lengths. He will not have the jaw power to crush and splinter the bone. But you may need to give him that early in the day so that if his tum is affected you have the rest of the day to get it all out and medicated.
Our BC's will get a whole lamb shin but as soon as we see they have eaten all the meat and grissel, and are starting to crack them open, they are removed and dumped.
Our pups got chicken necks but we cut them into pieces big enough that they had to chew them but could not swallow them whole. Chicken wings from the second joint to the tip were also used as a special treat.
Another favourite treat was frozen sardines. The pups love em. You can often buy them fresh at a fishmonger and then lay them flat and freeze them so when they are frozen they have not stuck to each other. You then give your pup a frozen sardine popsicle.
