Well, since we unexpectedly have aquired some lovely little hens, we have found that 2 of our cavies have decided ..by hook, or , by crook they are going to eat those chooks!!!
I have applied many tactics over the last month in an attempt to lesson there desire for fresh chickens to no avail.
I have tried, walking them on leash (one at a time) around the yard for a few hours everyday, taking there attention from the chickens with praise and treats when they focus on me...didnt work after 2 weeks...not even close.
I have tried growling, leave it, wtf are doing you ADHD crazy nutter, and the hose...didnt work.
They have changed from sweet loving well behaved sweethearts into just crazy, single minded, not listening, badly behaved, digging freaks when they see the chickens.
So we decided to give up and build a fort knox u beaut chicken run to keep them totally seperate, while still letting the dogs have full run of both yards.
It's only half finished, still have to get the chicken house and the gate, and we have buried wire around 2 feet down underground to stop them digging in...and will be putting wire in the top half.
And as you can see the dogs didnt help us very much, but were very cute anyway.
