Well reyzor, your posts are certainly not helping this person who is clearly very distressed about not being able to save this dog (not their dog - and the dog was in a run). And they ain't coming back anyway. Nor is it helping anyone else here. So you are only posting to make yourself feel better.

My point earlier was that being right is not always the most important thing. Sometimes you have to be able to let things go, even if you don't agree or think it's not fair. Sometimes you just have to be the better person, not just try and get your opinions heard.

And we all agree that post should have been removed. But you're flogging a dead horse here.

Would you have done things differently if you knew the penalty for your dog's escape was death?

It's not just angry farmers, there's cars on the road, in the country there's snakes, in the city there's rat bait and dangerous rubbish lying round.

If my dog ever escaped, there's no way I'd be leaving her alone in the backyard to try again...

they actually ripped fence palings off! i did not believe they could have EVER done that... they are now in a run. they cannot get out and i am at ease knowing this.

I live on a main road so yes they are in danger if they escape. but as i said i never in a million years thought they would do what they did to get out and roam.

regardless of how distressed someone is, im not gonna cop the blame for it, nor should anyone else....... swearing and carrying on; on a public forum isnt on...... thats what im getting at..... just because someone is pissed/ upset, doesnt give them the right to fly off that handle and tell us all to get f**ked cos we killed a dog.....

Jeezes, no one said it was right, but how is going on and on about it going to make a difference?!

The dog's dead, the distrought person had a massive tanty at our expense, then left to try and come to terms with this, and we're still squabbling.

however, when a dog has shown that it cant be trusted around stock, then the owners in my opinion should be either keeping it in a run, on a lead, or in the house, even a nebie like me can see that.......otherwise somthing may happen to it, farmers dont really care for dogs like they do their stock......

the others that have posted saying your dog has escaped, your dogs havent shown agression towards stock, people or other animals..... hence it hasnt been so bad....but when a dog begins to harras someones livelyhood it becomes an issue and the farmer does what he needs to to protect his investment..

and yeah it is piss weak asking someone questions then saying "can we let it die"......

either way, whats done is done, a dog is dead.... a dog that didnt need to die, and i for one am not gonna sit here and cop the blame for it.....
Jeezuz, Reyzor looks pretty correct to me. Have you ever lived in the country? If you had you'd know a trespassing dog is a dead dog walking. Farmers will protect their livelihoods (read stock) with deadly force and if you are stupid enough to let your dog wander well.....
To blame someone else is pathetic. When did the responsibility for this dog pass to the members of this forum?
