Belle didn't belong to Ceejay full stop. She was trying to help her friend.

She was in a cage/pen but managed to climb out through the night . People need to back up a bit when they do not know the whole story.

It's hard to back up when someone is telling you that it's your fault that a dog got shot, Choppa. I understand the getting emotional bit. But taking it out on someone else is not going to help anyone.

Telling the members that it is their fault the dog got shot????

Had a similar thing with Jess...she was away 5 nights with another dog, sheep down, was going to get a bullet. I contacted rescues..no reply and managed to get her to me.

How on earth, Chopper can you back up that it was the forum's fault??

    Weird.

If Jess had been shot it would not have been mine, any rescue's, members on this forum's fault but the fault of the owner who bloody shot her....period.

Any posts made under the name of Di_dee1 one can be used by anyone as I do not give a rats.

I realise pugger cant be everywhere and would have more important things to worry about than a forum but its nearly 20 hours later and a post telling everyone here to get F'd is still up. Any other forum and it would be gone in minutes if not 1st thing in the morning.
I'm not sure how many mods there are here but the forum obviously needs more.
I'm not having a go at anyone , just pointing out somthing that needs to be taken care off.

I understand guys, honestly , but can you not maybe look at it from another angle as well ? It wasn't even Ceejays dog but she was trying to get the youngster a chance . All she got mostly here were what she 'should and shouldn't do .In particular , Hya's last post was quite uncalled for.

Anyways , lets just put this to bed . I agree with Sean that the post should go and I trust Pugger will be on soon.

Ok, I agree that often when people ask for advice on something that most of us here would not agree with - especially rehoming dogs instead of trying to solve the issues - there are lots of comments judging the OP, which is only resulting in them getting all defensive.

Maybe we should make more of an effort to just stick to the original question because we're hardly going to change their minds anyway. And some issues are just not going to be a quick fix and not everyone is willing or able to put in the effort to solve them.

Totally agree Choppachop, at the end of the day it was about rehoming a dog with issues and obviously from an owner with issues. I could understand why ceejay has the frustration, a simple post becomes about again having to educate someone about being the perfect dog owner.
i wish some people would get down of thier high horse and realise that not everyone wants to listen or be educated "FACT", maybe they just wanted to find someone to take care of the dog: end of story!.
That said whilst i understand the frustration, the abuse and the language chosen was the wrong way to go about it and nor is anyone here responsible in any way for the death of this dog.

Arggghhhh....Hate seeing people upset...A bit of restraint from Ceejay and others might have made her more trusting with info I guess..

have removed most of the stuff I just wrote. Better as a PM for Choppa...

    Agree, thread is finished..

I really didn't want to reply to this thread, in the first place I couldn't help with re homing and that was what Ceejay was looking for, I can understand why Ceejay is/was upset but that wasn't the whole forums fault (over 4 500 people) and it surely wasn't the reason the dog was shot, but what is done is done and what is said can't be taken back.

Maybe people can learn from Ceejay's post so that people in Ceejay's position don't feel like they have to defend what started as essentially a good deed to help a dog in need of some serious help that the "owner" hadn't/wouldn't/couldn't address.

It is never nice being accused of something that you personally never had anything to do with probably more so when it contains foul language, not that I am not fluent in "blue language" myself, but there is a time and place. Maybe some clearer information about the situation and some less judgemental "help" could have avoided the reaction even though the outcome would most likely still have been the same.

Maybe someone could sticky this link Help! I need to rehome my pet! | PetRescue or the information so that people can quickly access the information without feeling or being judged if you have never had to re-home a pet it is a very hard thing to do and sometimes so very heartbreaking when you can't do it no matter what you do.

To CeeJay if you are still around, heartbreaking it can be but it looks like you tried everything you could think of to save a dog that wasn't yours, and that should be commended, dogs need more people like you that care and try to help.
ALL kittens are devil spawn wrapped in cuteness!
