People will not pay for a dog that is not a puppy
This is not true. Many people will pay for an older dog because they don't want to deal with a know nothing over the top puppy.

Can you go start another post and have this conversation there. This is a free to good home ad and I am over having my time wasted because every tom **** and harry has a comment.

Unless it is an offer of a new home then take your post and put it in another topic. Thank you.

Belle needs to go as she has been chasing the sheep and this is a huge problem on a sheep farm. Her owner does care where she goes and will be checking the new home before re homing her.
so she will go to the pund and get pts......bravo for your efforts.....i would suggest a staffy rescue group in your area maybe? i really hope for the dogs sake that she finds a new loving forever home where the new owners are able to take the time and effort with her........

I think your friend should be willing to take that cost on the chin to be honest.

What I would suggest that may HELP in rehoming.

    - Make sure she has the best chance of getting a great new home by DESEXING her, worming her, giving any due vaccinations.

All this will be a plus for any future owner because its a cost they dont have to cover.

    - Spread the word internally. Before I would advertise Free to good home I would try to re home with a friend or a friend of a friend as you can still keep in contact with them to see how she is going. Even find someone that may be able to take her for a couple of weeks to recover from desexing and give you more time to find a home.

    - Contact rescues. They usually dont like surrenders but I have seen a few advertise them and its a great way to get exposure.

Staffys are everywhere in rescues, i think they are the most popular dog to be found there.

I know alor of farmers oppinions of dogs varies from ours, Di can vouge for that but I think a little more effort could go along way for your mate!

If he *LOVES* this dog that is!

    Hope that in anyway helps..

we are trying to get the dog a good home, but you're not helping.

The best chance this dog has - is to be desexed, up to date with vet care (put an ad with your local vets), and lots of training and socialization.

If the dog was a pedigree or from a responsible breeder - the breeder is often willing to take it back and rehome for the owner. So there's another place to go for this dog.

And it would be worth contacting the local staffy rescue and asking for advice.

And most people come here - after they get their dog - so most of us can't imagine rehoming dog. I can understand why this one is being rehomed - although I'd build a dog run for my dog first - in this situation. And I know you are doing your best for this dog. Maybe more than I would in the same situation (I'm not sure I'd build a run in my back yard for someone else's dog).

Be aware too that sometimes free to good home dogs are snapped up to be used as bait dogs for dog fighting training. Maybe lot a lot but it does happen. You would never know.
