Default 2YO CattleX Free to Good Home...

Hi, 'Chippy' my 2YO cattleX needs a new home as new work commitments have left my partner and I unable to give her the exercise she deserves. She is currently at 23KG which is a bit over her average weight of 21kg.

Chippy is a lovely, excitable dog who will play all day. She is an extremely smart dog, house-trained but also happy to be outside. She only barks if unwelcomes come into the yard.

Maybe you should contact the rescue organisations in your area

Be careful advising that one Myf, many pounds have time limits on dogs. Surrendered dogs often get no time at all but can be PTS at any time from the moment they are surrendered.

    Australian Cattle Dog Rescue

I'd talk to these people before a shelter.

needs a picture and a location.

    Are you serious Natty!?
    Where are you?
The shelter our vet associates with, you have to wait 8-10 days with all dogs before putting them to sleep.

    Sorry Myf, missed this one.

The majority of pounds in NSW, particularly council pounds holding periods- Unidentified strays get 7 days, identified (microchipped) ones get 14 days. Surrenders get whatever time the pound can spare, most pound surrender forms have a clause informing the surrender-er that the dog could be euthanased at any time. I've heard it explained to people in pound waiting rooms lots of times and I've never seen someone's mind get changed by it... No space means no time. Some places put down certain breeds without question or waiting times, usually pitbulls and/or greyhounds.

Some are no-kill, but they are a minor minority.
