If you arn't prepared to put the time and effort in that this boy needs then you should PTS.
He shouldn't be getting passed onto someone else with those issues.

For any one who is wondering this thread is now closed.
After speaking with many trainers and vets, It was confirmed that i had only one option.
The reason for seeking a new home for Max was not to pass my problems onto some one else, But hopefully find a loving home which needed a very serious guard dog.
I thank every one for their input and concern, And i am sure that my daughter does also.
At the moment we are rather devastated that Max "went to live on a farm"

I would like to express that Max was socialised from day one, he was never abused. He was trained very well as he always did what he was asked with a smile. But many professionals including the vet simply stated that their is something seriously wrong inside his head.

Take whatever you need to out of this story
And for any cat lovers, Max is chasing them right now

Brett...you can only do so much with training, socialisation etc...one thing you can not fight and that is his genetic blue print...trust me I speak from experience! RIP Max and enjoy your time at the Rainbow Bridge

The dog on a farm story is wonderful for your daughter. My thoughts are with you at this hard time.

Sorry to hear of this outcome but I understand as I also had to do this to our dobe bitch Koni - short story, she was abused, came to live with us at 14 months and unfortunately was unable to be trained out of certain behaivours. On the advise of a behaviouris, breeder and a vet we had her PTS.
