Default Please Help!! - Need a temporary home for my dog in Syd.

Hi, I am in desparate need of somes help so I can keep my dog.

I'm looking for a kind stranger (in Sydney) to take in my dog Bailey temporarily - ALL expenses paid by us. My partner and I are going overseas for nearly 9months (23rd April 2013 - 10th Jan 2014) but we cannot bear to loose him so are looking for somewhere to house him.

He is a beautiful, healthy 7yr old Boarder Collie x Something (the Vet thinks he's bernese Mountain Dog or he could be Kelpie. He's from the pound so we're not really sure what he is) and is desexed.

He loves people so much (maybe too much, he gives a lot of kisses). He generally gets on with other dogs but sometimes he tries to dominate large male dogs. He is happy to stay inside all day (he prefers to be around you rather than outside) but would need a walk a day.

We have no other options as everyone we know lives in small appartments in the city.

If you know anyone that could help us please send them to this post. Or let me know if you have any other ideas about where we could house Bailey. I've looked in to kennels but what I've found cost at lease $5-8000 for 9mths and I want Bailey to be loved not caged (which costs more).

    Thanks everyone Bailey_1_sm.jpgBailey_5.jpg

Hi Lexy, is it possible for a friend or work-mate to stay at your place? My friend from work dog-sits for friends or friends of friends. She moves in to their house and will stay for however long (but we're in Perth), she's 50 & single and lives at home with parents when not dog/house-sitting!! Good luck!!

Unfortunately we don't have a house at the moment because we are overseas. Thanks so much for your suggestion though
