Question Cod Liver Oil for Puppies.

I have a old bottle of cod liver oil that i bought for my Ridgeback as another Ridgy owner sweared by it for his dog. I never got the chance to use much of it and i just read it can help reduce the risk of cancer in dogs. Since Bullmastiffs have a high chance of suffering from the big C ,i was considering adding some to his food every day but the articles i read always refer to capsules where my bottle is oil.
I'm thinking a half teaspoon once a day over one of his 3 daily meals.
    Any thoughts most appreciated.
    Thanks.

Don't know about the big C, but was told by a vet it was good for joints and a shiny coat...

I used to make my own meals for the dogs.

Would simmer a big pot of brown rice, garlic, diced veg. meat cuts and add a tablespoon of cod liver oil ........

The house would stink beyond belief while cooking.......But the dogs loved it....

Does it state mg/ml on the bottle? We give a 1000mg per day of any fish oil high in Omega 3's. Also give VitC, kelp, Vit E and Glucosamine/chondroitin.......This is all supposed to reduce the likelihood of joint problems and Cancer

Does it have a use by date? Just so long as it hasn't gone rancid it should be ok in small doses.

Not sure I'd give my dog robitussen - I'd want to be sure what's in it is safe for dogs. Some drugs that are fine for humans are not good for pets.

Kennel cough would usually be gone in a week or two.

Looks like you're right. Though I'd be extremely wary of giving my dog anything containing alcohol - and a lot of cough medicines do.

I have sometimes given her honey - which has some antibiotic properties and not much side effects if not eaten often enough to cause tooth decay.
