Has anyone actually seen a micro chip.? I am curious as to what they look like. I assume its tiny and maybe covered in some sort of plastic? My breeder is getting my pup done this week (chipped to my address and name) and my last dog was already done by the RSPCA when i picked him up so i have never seen it done.

If you go to Google Images & search for "Canine Microchip" it'll show you what they look like.

On the whippets I can feel the chip and they have a tendency to move, everyone says they are the size of a grain of rice, I would say slightly bigger.

I get our puppies done at 6 weeks of age, I think they are a little more unaware of what is going on at that age as I've never had one scream or anything.

The needle it sits in is slightly scoop shaped to contain the chip. I'm always glad it's not me it gets put in.

You should see them when they go in a hairless dog MAC, I'm glad it migrated a little as it was pretty obvious.
