    Hi.

    I concur with Myf. Amstaff/pitbull.

Look past the colours to the shapes of heads and ears in these 12 week old pups:

    Staffordshire:

    Labrador:

    Ridgeback:

    Amstaff:

    Pitbulls:

One of the biggest problems with id of bull breeds and crosses is that so few people actually know what a real pitbull looks like.

And don't listen to the mastiff x line. Most pounds, shelters and rescues call anything tan or red with a black mask a mastiff x. If they actually ever met a real mastiff they'd probably think very differently.

Tan and red with a black mask is a very common colour in SBT and APBT and their crosses.

Very interesing reading everyones replies. He's starting to get a lot taller now, without a doubt he will be much taller than a pure staffy when he's older. His colour is also getting a bit darker, with some black hair starting to come through.

    Regardless, we love him anyway

    My guess from a newbie.
    Just plain "Gorgeous"
But I too go with the amstaff or pitty x
    And luv his name too.

soryy but i too go with the bully cross......at a later age it will show more.many young pit crosses, even pure can look very narrow in the head/face.

more pictures to come when he is older for sure

i know pitbulls have a bad reputation, i believe they are either illegal or a restricted breed over here in WA. Anyone know if this applies to crosses or just pure breeds though? I guess many people still breed pitbulls and get away with naming them as a staffy x.

I've done a fair bit of reading on pitbulls, and it seems like the bad reputation is mostly just an assumption! At the end of the day, isn't any breed of dog capable of causing harm..

Socialise it as much as possible, make sure you get good training and treat it well and it doesn't matter what breed it is.

Hi! Your in WA. Are you in Perth by any chance? If you are ever interested in a dog walking partner let me know. Im in the hills area, but if that is too far away maybe a walk around the river?(Just thinking for socializing ). I have an almost 6 month old Ridgeback x Bullmastiff.
