No way an unsound dog (or owner ) could do all that work. There are still two types and there are still obvious differences. But if you are really into GSD's go to a specialty GSD show, quite an eye opener. A positive one.........

The czech type shepherd is what one of my friends has here...he also enters Herding type competitions with his bitch

One of my other friends has the more german line. i found your websites interesting and have passed them on. they might already know them, but you never know
So do both the types still get reg in Aus?
I did have a bit of a research early & must say there are alot of positive things going on within some of the breed clubs. I must admitt I didn't realize so much positive stuff is going on now. I would love to see the breed back to it's former glory.
The czech sheps are amzingly focused from what I have seen of them, great working dogs.
I'd love to see more of the types around & keep true.

Yes if they pass the classification, which our friends dog did, they can still be bred. his are just not very popular with todays GSD purchaser. he bred one litter two years ago for specific people interested in his type of dog.

Again if you go to a GSD show, you will see that there are several different types. I can even see that locally, some are heavier, longer coated, broader headed all of the mentioned or only one. i am very impressed with the way they are dealing with their breed and how they encourage people to do things with their dogs, obedience, tracking and such
