Default Do You Stop to Look at Puppies in Pet Shops?

While I dont think puppies should be sold in pet shops (unless it is a pet shop that sells rescued/pound puppies or similar - not sure if there are any in Oz) I always have to stop and have a wee perve at all the gorgeous wee babies in there.

Yes it is easy to do that. We all love puppies. Although I sometimes wonder what their future will be, they are so vulnerable and dependent on whoever buys them.

Yep, agree, I wonder that too.

I always check our local newspaper/mag for the "dog of the week" or pet of the week whateves (the rescues/pound dogs). Have tried talking the OH into just about every single weeks pet (specially the older once who I feel very sorry for) but he is not into it. Probably for the best, I think our two would be a bit put out if a third arrived.

I am guilty of going up to those tiny boxes when people are looking at them and proclaiming very loudly "WOW! $1500 for a cross bred, my mum sells her purebreds for $800!"

No. Because I get too angry and think about the poor breeding pair pumping out litter after litter. I've been kicked out of those places for voicing my opinion on puppy farms and BYB's.

I went into a pet shop that sells puppies to get a collar and lead for Rory and told myself "I will not look at the puppies". I had my back to the puppy pens looking at leads and collars when I heard a very bold yip yip yip turned around to see 4 cav puppies lined up and looking up at me .The little devils got me... Not a fan of BYB and Puppy Mills

I always do, despite how much I hate pet shops, I love dogs. I love puppies. Its inevitable

I actually went into one on Thursday. They had Maltese X Shih Tzus for $670 and a Rottweiler X Bull Arab for $500.

That's interesting about the Bull Arab cross in a petshop, we are full with Bull Arab x's at the shelter..
