"Very silly" and "get better dog knowldge"

crazydog, I think you are a very valuable member, and its fine to disagree, you can discuss untill the cows come home, thats what makes a forum, but keep the conversation on topic and don't make insults, as petty as they may seem

Have you read the other post on the other topics, I am honest & up front. I say it how I see it & will call silly when I see silly.

In our house the bitch has most definitely been top, not just appeared to be top but actually been top dog.

Yes it can happen but in a true pack the dog is top & will only deferre to the bitch when she has pups. Pet owners that already have a domanite bitch & then get a younger dog will find the bitch will keep her place most times. Also different breeds are better at being the top dog so in a mixed breed home a bitch of a more domanite breed will stay above a dog of a less domanite breed. But that same bitch put into a true pack enviroment will end up deferring to the male top dog

I see what you are saying, and understand.

I think it varies depending on, like you say, the breed, the set up among other things. At the end of the day, domestic dogs dont really ever live in a true pack environment though so IMO I dont think it can be assumed itll work how it owuld work if they were in a true pack environment...if you get my drift.
