Question Throwing Up a Little Almost Every Time He Drinks

I was wandering is it normal for my pup to throw up a little every time hes drinks water..I dont know if hes drinking too fast and its gone down the wrong way which is what i was thinking the first few weeks after getting him but it still happens.I only really notice it at night. I wake him to go out for his toilet break before i go to bed and most nights hell sniff about the garden and drink pools of accumulated rain water etc rather than his own water bowl and every night he comes in a chucks a small amount up....Is it just due to being a puppy and being immature etc hes 11 weeks now?

    Hi,

    Welcome!

My s/tzu x is about 3 year old but he still does gag (no water seen) whenever he drinks water. I think he drinks too quickly and water goes wrong way, so he coughs out.
I love cooking but I love eating even more.

My dog does the cough splutter gag thing when she's been drinking out of the running tap. It's better if she drinks from the water lower down but if she drinks with her chin higher than her throat, there's a good chance some of it is going to go the wrong way and make her cough.

You could try freezing a block so she can only take the water in slowly.

my dog gags when she drinks too fast or when she drinks lying down.

but just to be sure, make sure your pup drinks clean water only.

When I got my pup he used to gulp a heap of water and gag it up so I gave him little bits at a time, except for when I was away. that cured his gagging
