Thread: Advice Needed Please - Poppy's Got the Run's Again!

Default Advice Needed Please - Poppy's Got the Run's Again!

Poppy has been completely fine the last two days. Back to her normal happy self! Playing, eating and drinking.

Yesterday she had normal urine output and solid poos. Today was the same. Until about 5.30pm. She did a soft poo inside. Not completely runny but definately on the runny side.

Then about 20 mins ago she did another BIG runny poo. The runniest I have ever seen her poos.

As much as it stunk I had a good look at it. There was no blood. DEFINATELY none!

She had 3 small meals of dry food yesterday. And two small meals today.

I did do something silly yesterday. I bathed her and then wanted to dry her with the hair dryer. Shes not used to it yet and so I tempted her with treats to come closer to the dryer. In hindsight that was silly but I didn't think. Could this be the cause of her runs? She had quite a few treats But they were just GSD's all natural ones.

    What would you do now?

Check her gums, make sure they look okay, no more food, only a little water

....and please take her to a vet in the morning!

Okay, off to the vet! Will ring first thing in the morning. What do you think it could be?

Could it just be the treats? I did give her an AWFUL lot thinking back!

And last time she ate the entire container she had runs like this! God I'm so silly!!!

But aren't you now asking for a diagnosis?

It may be the treats, but 2 episodes in less than a week is enough to warrant a vet visit.

The vet will advise you on an eating plan.

sigh.........I am going to be blunt. If she got the runs last time....why the hell did you give them to her again?

What do you think Amy...honestly...do you think it's the treats since her poop was fine until she had them???

I'm asking for opinions. If you don't have anything constructive to say then don't. I apologised. It was a misunderstanding. As a moderator I thought you would take that on board.

Its okay, you can be blunt! I'm beating myself up about it anyway!

I didn't give them to her last time, she got into the container and ate them (remember related thread).

I just didnt think. I thought that since they are all natural they would be okay. I made a stupid mistake and I'm willing to admit it.

Look amy, it may be the treats, it may not, or it may just be that her little system is still a bit delicate to handle them, you don't know, we don't know.....that's what the vet will figure out.
