On Sunday, if you would like, I'll go through a long list of things that 'can' possibly ruin a dog. I'll help you come up with a list of household rules for Poppy that you need to stick to and a training/exercise plan for you to do with her. I know that you probably have a good idea of what you want/need, but it helps a lot if you have it written down.

I have been working on a similar plan for Batty as you know and I am certain that I can give you plenty of information, tricks, hints and tips for her. I'll start working on it today and run through it with you on Sunday, but if you'd rather we just talked about it then I don't mind at all.

It can be frustrating for everyone, as sometimes the message doesn't get across and sometimes it takes three or four tries of explaining the same thing before it becomes clear to another person. I think the majority of the frustration stems from being unable to communicate with a person as well as they'd like. Sometimes what is crystal clear to them may be as clear as mud to someone else.

I hope that kind of makes sense to everyone!

I'm not willing to accept that because I am a moderator I shouldn't comment unless I have something deemed as constructive to say. This is a public forum. If I choose to make a comment as DA then I will. Just like everyone else here has that right.

I really am sorry DA Completely my mistake, I honestly didn't mean to pinpoint anyone as such, I should have said that it can be frustrating for everyone, as that is what I was meaning. I might go edit to that effect now.

I agree entirely with your second paragraph too. Being a moderator here in no way removes your ability to say what you think at all.

Well I'm going to say I'm frustrated. I'm frustrated because I can't be there helping, I'm frustrated because I'm trying to put into words something that's not as simple as "now click and treat".

It's the aura that you have about yourself when around dogs. That's the part I want to impart thru words that I'm finding difficult.

If I'm honest I also want to reach down the computer and strangle Masha's parents so that she can get on with Dora and that's frustrating me.

Dogs are a huge passion. I'm on here because I'm having dog withdrawals until my pups have grown up a bit because I haven't had many clients here because most of their dogs come here because they are a nuisance and I don't want to inflict their bad habits on tiny puppies. So I'm only taking the ones that are almost sorted.

I'd give you five minutes with me trying to teach me about computers and I'd bet you'd be frustrated. Because it does not come naturally to me.

I used to be berserk on training dogs to as high as I could get them but now with a ready made family I made the choice to stick to one side and that was the breeding showing side. But if I wasn't dog savvy or calm etc around my dogs believe me 6 dogs would drive a person nuts.

Yes I am guilty of trying to put years of experience on you Amy in a matter of posts and I can't and that is the only reason I am frustrated.

Thanks. That sounds great. I really felt that I had learn't so much and taken a lot on board since I first got Poppy. Its REALLY disheartening to her people find my posts frustrating.

I can understand this type of frustration MAC. A passionate frustration. And maybe I'm reading too much into others posts and taking them too personally but I respect what you have to say. You find a way to say it in a non-judgemental way while still emphasising the importance of your post.

Yahoo, I feel like I've had a break thru.

However I do feel sometimes Amy that by trying to be non judgmental my posts don't get the message across and that is the downside for the dog, whereas others are straight forward and to the point and that's the best thing for the dog. And dogs is what has brought everyone of us here.

If there is one thing I've learnt thru dog training and that is you can't be a dog trainer unless you like people a LOT.

I said that I was frustrated. I was talking about me. yep frustrated as the same thing is said over and over but seems to be discounted, things continue as before then it is wondered why. If Angela had not met you in person, Amy, I would really be thinking you were a reincarnation, playing the thick as two bricks line to laugh and have fun with the forum members trying to help.

Any posts made under the name of Di_dee1 one can be used by anyone as I do not give a rats.

Don't feel too badly, it is something that I have to do for myself too! I'm still learning about a whole host of things, and I will never stop learning about them with dogs. There is no-one on earth who knows everything there is to know about dogs, and there is no way that anyone should be expected to.

You have learned a lot here, I can tell that from the differences when you are visiting. You have taken a whole lot on board too.

When people are passionate about what they are saying sometimes that passion gets directed through their posts and towards other people. It can seem like a very personal attack at times, I know I've felt that too! I now have a policy, if I'm feeling like I'm being attacked by someone I read the post the first time. Then I close the window and walk away from it for at least half an hour. After that I'll go back with a clear head and slowly read through it all again before posting what I need to. In effect, I take my own emotion out of it and I find that is the best way for me to take what is needed from the post.

Frankly thats a horrible thing to say. WHERE did I discount the information given??? I took on Clea's advice about where Poppy should sleep even though I was unsure. I took a leap of faith from the advice given here and it worked. I was thankful and I made sure Clea knew that.
