I love whippets. They chase things dont they. Im getting to the point of considering a real live toy for Bernie. Another dog. The best toy you can bring a dog i reckon. I would want something that would be willing to play his favourite game - chase me!
    A whippet? perhaps.
How much is a whippet pet standard?

My it's quiet here. The remaining four slept thru the night, didn't wake up until OH turned on the shower. So that's from 8pm to 5:30am and a clean play pen.

    What good puppets.

Jet goes on Thursday and Diamond on Saturday. So then there will just be our two.

Awww, I will have my life back.
I give you 24 hours before you're saying I wish they were still here

Great to hear you found such wonderful homes for them

Whippet chasing Bernie. His bestist mate for this game, is a 7 yr old lasa apso, who rules it over Bernie. Only thing is, i have to be in the paddock at 6 bloody 30am to get them together, as that's when the lasa apso gets walked.

Pet quality Whippets sell for around $800. Yes they do love a game of chase or be chased. It's a favourite.

Whippets are very quiet dogs but the sounds they make when they are playing chase and wrestle can be off putting to some dogs & the neighbours who think a fight has errupted.

They also like to drape over the top of their two legged and four legged friends and use them as beds and heaters.

The down side to Whippets is their fine skin which tears easily, not that they are sooks, they will keep on running with huge gashes in themselves which would make a grown man cry and are difficult to stitch because the skin peels back. A Whippet owner has a good first aid kit for such things.

They do love the company of other dogs, rarely is one in a house as the only dog. Getting one that is used to large dogs is a bonus, but not hard to do as a lot of the Ridgeback breeders also have Whippets (which are much easier to breed than the RR).

One of my puppies spends the days his mum goes to work with a friends 43kg Golden Ret x Standard Poodle, was not frightened of it and gave as good as it got.
