Thread: Growth Spurts???

    Default Growth Spurts???

So I know babies and young children sometimes sleep A LOT when they are going through growth spurts...

My question is...do puppies do this as well? Poppy has slept literally ALL DAY LONG!

I wonder if she is still tired from her BIG play with Batty yesterday? But then the worry wart part of me worries if there is something wrong?

Ours have days like this too, it is usually if they've had a really big day either that day or the day before

What C&B has said I agree with. She has played herself silly with Batty lately, hasn't she?

Thanks C&B! Yep, DA! She played non stop with Batty for hours yesterday! So I guess that explains it!

Miss Bella has been asleep since about 6:30 - she ran round like a lunatic at the dog park this afternoon and then went to playgroup for an hour. Charlie Pug is yet to crash - but he will soon, and he will crash hard.

She's got "the day after the day before" syndrome! Quite normal to crash the next day.

Even my clients say their dogs sleep for 3 days after they've been here for a holiday!

Batty's been doing the same for most of today!

It was nearly 3.5 hours that they were playing yesterday too!

C&B's Mum, I actually have to put Batty in his crate when he's tired. He gets nippy (almost like a cranky toddler!) then when he's in his crate he conks out within a min!

Charlie's just crashed on the couch beside me - he's out like a light!

Thanks again for the reassurance ladies!

AGB - they were playing for a very long time! The only time they stopped was when they had a bath! I feel great knowing that Poppy will have just as good a time as us while we are away! Will be like a holiday for her too!

Oh I love the day after a big play session. Make the most of it. They do get more stamina as they age.

If we have to go out or away overnight we take all the dogs for a huge walk and let them run along the fire trails.

Keeps them quiet overnight and they don't even miss us.
