Thread: Am I Feeding Her Enough???

  1. #1

Default Am I Feeding Her Enough???

Poppy had 1/3 of a cup of dry supercoat puppy with a tablespoon of warm water on it for breaky and about half of a 1/3 of a cup of dry supercoat

puppy with about a LARGE tablespoon of minced chicked carcases for dinner.

Thing is she is food crazy!!! When we go to feed her she acts like she has not been fed in days! Then after she has literaly inhaled her food she goes back and lick lick lick lick licks the bowl until it is shiny!

I jus drove past a Cavy who looked a bit overweight but it made me wonder if Poppy is a bit skinny???

    Am I feeding her enough?

I'm sure there are heaps of people here who know exactly how to tell if a dog is the right weight, but as long as I can't see Loeka's ribs and he doesn't have a tubby tummy, I'm going to give him the exact amount which his dry food recommends.

So I feed him 80grams 3X a day. On top of that he gets liver treats for being an awesome dog when we're training or he just hangs out and is a good boy and if we're out for the day, he gets a 'penis bone'. And once a week we give him a kangaroo tail. I don't know if that's too much or too little or even if roo tails are a good idea (some say yes, some say no - it's all so confusing!). He also eats a lot of grass.

But like your pupster, he eats like a vacuum and wouldn't mind going for seconds or thirds if he had the chance. It makes me think he's part labrador. I guess at the end of the day, I figure he's almost 5 months and he runs around like a lunatic so he'll be fine.

    I hope that helps!!!

I can let you know on Sat and teach you how to tell as well.

Some dogs will always go mental over food

I think Cavs are a breed that have a tendancy to be a bit "greedy". My half Cav certainly is!!

Thanks! That does help! Poppy eats a lot of grass too! I know she isn't too skinny! Her ribs are not showing but she does have a bit of a puppy tummy, especially after meals! Lol!

I just have to say that Poppy is absolutely darling! She doesn't look like she has any trace of poodle in her whatsoever and has the prettiest little cavvy face! So in lurve!

Aww! Thanks Angela! We think so too!

Was so nice to meet you and Batty! He is such a cutie! Miss Poppy slept all the way home and is still asleep! OH just asked why she was so tired! Haha!

She had the best time with Batty! I feel so comfortable and happy knowing that she will be with you when we are away!

Look forward to seeing you next weekend and I'm sure Poppy looks forward to seeing Batty too!

I think he's pretty handsome! He's curled up next to me at the moment fast asleep, I'm sure he's dreaming about playing with her

Hahaha! Two hours of play will do that to a pup! I'm very glad you're happy and I am too! She's a beautiful little girl! Hubby thinks she's very cute too!

I'm sure Batty can't wait for next weekend too!
