Default This Ones for You Clea!!!

    Clea...I'm taking your advice!

Poppy is sleeping in the main bathroom tonight! She had a stay in there while I mopped the floors and then while we got to get dinner and she wasn't crying/scratching at the door when we got back! She will have her bed and her toy and some newspaper and she WILL learn to sleep!

I gave in at 5am this morning! I knew I had to get up at 6.30am and just wanted another hours sleep! I was SOOOO tired! I couldn't take the whining/scratching anymore!

At 6am I woke to find poo...LOTS of it! On the tiles...fine I can deal with that...then...on the carpet!!! Oh no!!! Not on Missy!!!

So thats it! Tonight is the night! Wish us well!!!

Good luck! Make sure you've warned your neighbours on both sides and behind too. It helps!

Remember to be patient. If she suddenly starts whining again take her outside and be boring. Get her to go to the toilet then straight back indoors and to bed.

I actually carried Batty out and carried him back in after the 2nd night because he was getting too hyper otherwise. The other option is put her on her lead and take her out. You may need to walk her around for a minute or two before she 'goes'.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Oh another option is pop a shirt or something that smells like you in the laundry with her.

Thanks Ange! She has one of OH's shirt in her bed...but we washed all her bedding today.

I want her to get into a better bedtime routine! Will be good for all of us! You too!

She is pretty good with going out to wee in the night...she does her thing straight away or if she is just being a rascal she turns around and walks straight back inside!

Thanks again for the well wishes!

So I have to admit it was SO nice to have our ensuite back! I used to lie in bed holding "it" as to not disturb Poppy!

Poppy went to bed beautifully last night! I think I heard her whining/scratching at 5am. Then when OH got up at 6am she must of heard and really gave it a good shot. He took her out, she wee'd, he put her back and man did she carry on! OH told me I was being cruel because I wouldn't let him go get her (He is the big softy when it comes to this sort of thing) and off he went to work. About 5 mins after he had gone so was quiet again. Then when I got up at 8.30am she was lying in her bed!

I put down some newspaper for her incase she needed to go potty and she shredded it! Literally! So not sure if I should put that down again tonight. What do you think?

Sounds like you got a good night! Hubby is the same with Batty, but I think it's more he can't handle the whining.

Sounds like she had a great game with the paper!

    Congrats!

    Excellent news.

I'm glad your getting a good nights sleep and your baby is finding her routine.

Just remember to tell your OH that every time he caves in she will escalate the scratching etc because she knows she has to make a bigger racket before someone comes to see her.

I'd put the paper down again, she can take out her frustration on it or use it. Also lots of toys. Maybe a couple of her favourites and some new ones.

We had an even better night last night!!!

Went to be fine again...gave her LOTS of toys (bought her a kong yesterday) and closed the door. She heard me about 15mins later when I went to get some water and had a whine then.

OH got a bit worried about the neighbours and about her and I told him we didnt want an over indulged dog! We wanted a nice well adjusted one! He agreed and 5 mins later she was quiet. I heard her whine at about 4am (this is her usual trick) but ignored it and fell back to sleep.

Then didnt hear another peep until I got up at 8.30am! She was in her bed again! She didnt even cry when OH went to work at 6am!
