Thread: Can She Do Long Term Damage???

Default Can She Do Long Term Damage???

Poppy has two particular chew toys that she LOVE LOVE LOVES!!!

She regularly gallops around the house with them in mouth, shaking her head from side to side, jumping around and sliding on the tiles.

She regularly bumps her head/legs/body against furniture, walls etc. It NEVER bothers her...but I worry about her head getting bumped...

    Am I being silly!

Nothing to worry about. She's a dog, not a baby

    No, you're not being silly.

I am having a similar problem ATM (as in right now, tonight!) but becuse my puppy is a giant breed, i worry even more about her damaging her bones and joints.

If she is in that 'mood', I tend to go outside into the yard, that way she can go 'crazy' to her heart's content, but I've taken away a hell of a lot of the risk of injury.

Another reason is also that I don't want a dog going 'crazy' in the house. They wreck things, and I always like a dog to comprehend and learn that the house is NOT the place for going ape.

So kind of fixes both issues at once, Amy, taking her into the yard and giving her a real play session to get all that pent-up energy out.

Thanks DA. I guess its not a HUGE of a risk as she is MUCH smaller than your pup! I REALLLLLY worry about going outside at night with her. We have cane toads and I am petrified she is going to chew on one! So I would rather avoid it if possible.

She did have fun running up and down and up and down and up and down our long hall way with her toy though!

    I agree Myf. Totally.

In your case Amy if you go outside with her, keep an eye out for toads. Do I dare suggest you buy a baseball bat?
If you really must keep her inside, just find a room where she can run freely.

Myf, my place is on several different levels. Stairs here and there make it dangerous for Inca, especially landing on polished floors, sliding across the lounge room and smashing into the windows. Silly girl, she's going physcho tonight. The damn cat won't play with her.

Just loaded some more over the past few days.

She's growing nicely, even if I do say so myself. Looking at getting another one. Will be around Nov/Dec. Can't wait. She is just brilliant, and I am very happy with her Myf.
