    Default Barking Late at Night

When we go to bed, Boss goes outside and barks. He sits out under his tree and barks. He is barking at nothing. We are have being locking him inside at night so he doesnt go out there and bark.

Normally we leave the sliding door open for him during the day and night, also its open for charlie and chewy.

Now im wondering how do we stop him off barking at night when we go to bed.

Ah. Well I dont know any further than that... Dora usually quiets when I give her a toy if she's barking at night. Cant say I know dogs too well, but tried anyway.

Are you sure there is nothing he can see or hear? My dogs don't generally stay outside but when it's really hot they do. One particular night about 11pm they were going off, I yell out to be quite, have a quick look can't see anything. 2 mins later they go off again so out I go in my nighty and no shoes and what do I see but a bloody kangaroo in the middle of my yard!!!

I have never ever gone outside in a nighty and barefoot again - you just never know when you will have to scale the neighbours fence! (or at least attempt to )

By the way, I live in the middle of Canberra so a kangaroo in the middle of my yard is a little unusual , but it could be something he can see that you can't.

Yeah we got out and look and see what he is barking at.. OH goes out there with a touch. He cant be barking at the cats cos they are sleep on the bed.

Im just wondering if he is barking at the neigbours' dogs even thou they arent barking

They might be moving around and he can hear the rustling - what kind of bark is it? Like insistent or crazy or monotonous?

Are the neighbours outside? Or maybe he is telling the other dogs to go away? Does he come back when you tell him to?
