    Default GSP Puppy!

As some of you might know from my introductions thread, I will be the brand new owner of a little German Shorthaired Pointer next Tuesday!

He is from Heiderst kennels, he was 7 weeks old yesterday and so the breeder sent me photos of four show boys to choose from. It took HOURS for me to decide, but I finally settled on this fellow.

One of the main reasons is that I actually figured out he was the puppy I picked in the first photo when the litter was only a few days old. He was also the breeders choice for a show dog. I am super happy and don't think i'll be sleeping at all this week, I can't wait!

We haven't decided on a name yet, but we are thinking Grissom or Cooper. He will foremost be a family pet, but I will be showing him also. I hope to get into tracking, retrieving and field trials with him also, fingers crossed he shows some hunting instinct!

    He looks really nice. Congratulations.

Tip on the hunting stuff. I was told by the "old hands" at the field day I went to that they really don't do much with their pointers (there were also a few GSP's) until they hit 11 months.

I was surprised at how much working ability was in my setter so I'm sure you won't be disappointed with your GSP which in my opinion are a bit more switched on.
