    Thanks Dis

I have honestly learnt so much from being a member here...and I realise the mistakes I have made.

All there is to do now is make the best of the situation and vow to never let anything like this happen again

I'm sorry it didn't turn out for the best JTDNTB. Good on you for going with your instincts!

I'm sure you'll feel very rewarded when the puppies are all placed in loving homes.

Hang in there, the right person will come along. They have to fit your criteria and it doesn't matter if they go a bit older.

Some people I've sold to have been glad to get a pup a bit older, especially those with kids.

Glad he made things so obvious for you Judge!

While reading this one thing did occur to me - given the breed of the pups before you allow people to come to your home I would be questioning them very carefully (I know you spoke to this guy a few times but maybe put together a list of questions to go through) - and ask if they are prepared for you to do a home check. I have found that by asking lots of questions, but more in a "friendly chat" way you will often catch people out, and if you have ANY doubts at all don't give them your details. You don't need to "sell" the pups to them, THEY have to "sell" themselves to YOU!

RE the cost and desex refund, I'd be asking more and refunding more. If it will cost $250 to desex the female add that to what you want to nett eg ask $550 and refund $250.

At the very least I would arrange for someone else to be there when prospective owners come to your home, a big burly bloke preferably! And tell them you are making a short list so that you can best match pups to homes as you see their temperaments develop.

Well done on your instinct! The right homes will come along. Be wary of giving out your address to people you're a little sus of too. It's not uncommon for pups to get stolen...

    stolen? my gosh.... crap....
actually a puppy was stolen from a pet shop here. LOW..... if they're stealing it, they can't be good owners! .......... anyway i heard it was found and returned but not sure.

i think your being very responsible in the decisions your making,
good luck with finding good homes for them, shouldn't be too hard they are adorable!

although i'd hate to think with the bad press on the breed lately, judgmental people might steer clear. if you know what i mean, ... like ya say , the deed not the breed!.x
